Duties and
Responsibilities:

Support the investigation and follow-up of reportable disease cases in populations to determine and describe means for detection, prevention, intervention and control of health problems within the community.
Assist with the identification of persons at risk for disease infection or transmission.
Assist with the collection and analysis of data, preparing reports, and presenting findings to the assistant director, director, and other parties as needed.
Collaborates with other county health department staff on highly sensitive cases.

Assists with analyzing, evaluating, and compiling public health data to determine training needs and long-range program plans.
Provides technical assistance, consultation and direction for development, evaluation, and expansion of public health preparedness and response programs.
Communicates training opportunities to interested parties.

Drafts materials (plans, manuals) and assists with the training of Sumter CHD staff and community partners.
Assists with developing and/or administering curricula and/or other training materials.
Review appropriate health care facility Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans (CEMP) and provide feedback/approval within the appropriate timeframe.
Ensure that facility CEMPs meet the Agency for Health Care Administration s (AHCA) standards.
Assist with ensuring that health care facilities have the appropriate contact information and instructions for submitting CEMPs.

Implements records management program and ensures compliance to monitor and evaluate activities and program effectiveness.
Recommends program purchases to management and analyzes and tracks all expenses.
Maintains budget and ensures compliance for the administration of federal grant funds or trust fund monies.
Manages and maintains preparedness inventory and inventory management database.

Support the public preparedness community outreach and partner engagement activities.
Assist with the development of preparedness and public health outreach materials.
Assist with creating an emergency preparedness element to be included in public health outreach materials.
Attend public health community outreach events.
Participate in the FDOH Preparedness Program Council.

Knowledge, skill and abilities, including utilization of equipment required for this position:

Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning and resource allocation.

Effective communication skills.

Understanding complex written sentences.

Identification of key causes, effective speaking, problem identification, information gathering, active listening, information organization, critical thinking.

Implementation planning, knowledge of English language, instructing, systems evaluation, economics and accounting, mathematics.

Knowledge of personnel policies and practices.

Coordination and management of personnel resources.

Bachelor s degree in public health, emergency management, homeland security or a related field required

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
